MOSAIC is the Multicultural Opportunity and Social Awareness Interest Community. MOSAIC was started in fall 2007. It is an intercultural living environment that facilitates dialogue and learning about all aspects of diversity. We define diversity in the broadest sense to include race, gender, socio-economic status, ability, sexual orientation, religion, political views and other forms of difference.
Experiences in MOSAIC
- MOSAIC is a unique opportunity in which students will be exposed to various resources on the campus in a purposeful and intentional way. While other students living in the residence halls have access to information on campus, MOSAIC will bring the information to students through resource boards, faculty mentors in the hall, and organized events.
- In conjunction with the RA programs, MOSAIC will provide opportunities for field trips, community-building efforts, and service learning projects.
- MOSAIC students will have the opportunity to participate in a summer study abroad
- Returning students to MOSAIC will serve as mentors for new participants, program coordination and other leadership opportunities.
- MOSAIC is housed in Slusher Tower. Slusher Tower is a co-ed facility and a number of renovations have been done to make it more accessible. A description of Slusher Tower can be found here.
- There are no additional housing costs associated for living in a theme program. Your standard room and board rates apply. Room and board rates can be found here.
- Activities involved within MOSAIC is free to all community members. Students will incur costs for the textbook associated with the course.
